Idea for new Group Fitness Class - Bar Method

I was hoping to make a suggestion for a great Group FItness Class.  It's a class teaching The Bar Method.  Currently, this type of class is all the rage in California and is catching on in a select few other states but not yet in Missouri.  Basically, it's a strength/cardio class incorporating moves inspired from using a ballet barre.  I have a good friend in California who has dramaticcally changed her body by incorporating this class into her exercise regimen.  More information can be obtained from the website www.barmethod.com.  Additionaly, instructional DVD's can be purchased.  I ordered them today and would be happy to share them with an instructor who would be willing and able to teach the class at Lifetime.

Thanks for considering my suggestion.

Thank you for your input!  I'll look into the Bar Method and encourage our Group Fitness Instructor team to do so as well.  Life Time Fitnesses all across the country have special class identities with specific objectives that we adhere to so that we are providing the best in instruction with quality and consistency being a top priority.  We do offer special "Feature Classes" that are unique to our club.  Perhaps the Bar Method class could be introduced that way.

My girlfriend in Chicago has been raving about this class for two years now.  I asked a few of our instructors about it and nobody had heard of it yet.  Looks amazing but would have to have bars installed around the room and not sure how that would work. Very interesting though, lots of leg work and unilateral work too.  It is a huge hit in Chicago, people line up outside the studio for the classes.

Something that we should look into at some point.

You will LOVE the new format that we will be offering later this Fall: FLUID STRENGTH!  It is a blend of flowing dance movement with a touch of yoga with no equipment strength building for body mind and spirit!  Stay tuned!  We previewd it in our "In the Know" event a few weeks ago and it was well received.  Feel free to call me for more details...Kristin Dabney
