Growing up, I was very thin, I was physically active and never had to worry about what I ate. After college, I slowly began to put on weight and after I had children, it began to happen more rapidly. It was when I looked at the scale and saw a number over 200, I knew I needed to make a change. I then began a succession of diets, where I would lose weight, but the diet would never last long enough to lose all the weight I wanted and I would always put the weight back on anyway.

In December of 2008, I saw the flyer for the eat™program at (Eagan) Life Time. I was pretty sure I knew how to lose weight, I figured it was as simple as eating less calories than you burn, but I thought the weekly weigh-ins would help me stay motivated, so I signed up. What I got was much more than that. Cindi taught me there is so much more to losing weight than counting calories. Cindi helped me change my attitudes towards food and concentrating on healthy eating, rather than dieting. I went from counting calories and eating mostly processed foods to eating natural foods and fresh fruits and veggies. I also started taking multivitamin and fish oil daily. Cindi also encouraged me to take advantage of all the services Life Time has to offer. I had been working out regularly, but was able to use my CardioPoint to make my workouts much more effective and push myself harder and my CaloriePoint and meal plan helped me to assure I was getting enough of the nutrients I need. The meal plan was also easy to follow because Cindi looked at what I was already eating and what I liked to eat to make sure the plan fit me. It has been 6 months since I changed the way I eat and I have never once felt deprived or felt like I was on a diet. Not only have I lost 34 pounds and  in the last three months reduced my body fat from 24.9% to 19.8%, but I have seen improvement in the condition of my skin and I have much more energy.
