Don’t think exercise and poker together? Think again! This past Saturday was the Big 16 event T.E.A.M Texas Hold ‘Em, which was held at participating Life Time Fitness clubs. Members arrived at the gym bright and early on Saturday morning for a 90-minute vigorous workout in which they earned poker chips equivalent to the amount of calories they burned. After they’d gotten sufficiently sweaty, and earned enough chips to play, they gathered together in the café for a spirited game of Texas Hold ‘Em.

At the White Bear Lake LTF location, the participants all seemed to know one another so the vibe was competitive, yet also really friendly and enjoyable. The fact that none of the players were that well-versed in the game made it even more fun…there was certainly a lot of laughter over bad hands and final game results!

In the end, though, everyone walked away a winner. Between the great workout, and the enjoyment of spending time with fellow members and trainers during a social event, the participants commented that they would definitely do it again!
