      <title>LTF, Cary NC the new Walmart or Home Depot</title>

The feeling you get is one you might have just before a new Lowes, WalMart, Target or Home Depot opens. The health club opens and it seems like an awesome place you are blown away by the tile floors, new equipment and reasonable price. I mean for the price it was comparable to any other gym in the area even the Y. Well here we are two years in and dues have gone up, and I ask what has changed??? Try to find a decent jump rope, the fancy tile in the showers is covered with mold and has a stench to it. The corner shelves have all fallen off the walls in the shower and has anyone stubbed their toe in the men's locker room on the crack from the settled tile and concrete? So I ask what has the increase in price gotten us? Nothing, all the other gyms or health clubs in the area have all but shut down so there really are no other options.&amp;#160; I used to love the option of going to a mom and pop hardware store so I could get the friendly service of people who cared about what they were doing and loved to help you out. Now we have the MECCA that is ltf.&amp;#160; Today I took total cardio conditioning with an instructor who couldn't even make it through warm ups without huffing an puffing into her headset. But hey she has a degree in sports blah blah blah. Well if I wanted to learn how to fight like an MMA star I would not read it in a book. I would want to learn it from someone who followed the regime of an MMA fighter.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In January we have to deal with the NY resolution folks, and the hard core members cannot even find a locker or parking space. Kind of like going to church on Easter or Christmas. So you call the manager Frank and he tells you to change up your routine. Okay so I am a dedicated member who gives a crap about my workout and going to the gym but I have to change my routine so Mr. Frank can make his numbers by bringing in members who pay the fees and don't use the gym. Gym owners loves these types of members but hey let's just raise the monthly price and screw everyone else.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;LTF is a brand that cares more about the asset tags being on the framed advertisements hanging over the urinals than it does of it's members. Try finding a basketball to shoot around with that doesn't look like an egg. Hey Frank basketballs are supposed to be round but hey your are LTF of Cary we are the highest ranked club in the LTF family so who cares right. No Frank why don't you take a second to inspect your club to see if there are any jump ropes available, or collars for the free weights, or a crack in the nice pretty tile in the men's room that a member might cut their foot on instead of worrying about your numbers and the next open house.&amp;#160; How about sitting in a class with the instructor who looks like she came out of a buffet and into your signature class to teach and cannot even do a push up correctly?&amp;#160; It's time someone at LTF Cary get's their head out of the corporate cloud of numbers and get's back to taking care of it's members.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:ba6301b1-74a6-40ab-abe3-827c0c6affc2] --&gt;</description>

padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: georgia,palatino;"&gt;I have been on my postpartum weight loss objective since I was cleared by OB a few months ago.&amp;#160; My summer has been filled with walking, 100 meter sprints, running stairs, sweating profusely in Bikram Yoga, and dancing hard as ish to Pitbull's "Calle Ocho" in Zumba.&amp;#160; Most recently, I spent the last 6 weeks swimming and taking aqua kickboxing in an effort to cleanse myself of 20 to 25lbs.&amp;#160; Now, all of this effort could be made quite simple if The Biggest Loser would have a postpartum special.&amp;#160; I mean, I could drop this weight in like 4 weeks.&amp;#160; Why should the morbidly obese have all the fun?&amp;#160; Surely, there are plenty of women trying to lose baby weight and plenty of men trying to lose the sympathy weight they gain during mom's pregnancy to comprise a very interesting cast of characters.&amp;#160; Note to self:&amp;#160; write a letter to NBC ASAP.&amp;#160; &lt;br/&gt;Anyway, aqua kickboxing was cool.&amp;#160; It was not the most grueling class in the world but it helped.&amp;#160; I have lost a couple of pounds, I have toned, and that hip injury I developed during my pregnancy has patched up pretty well.&amp;#160; This, however, could be the result of the laps I swam before every class.&amp;#160; The last day of class was Wednesday.&amp;#160; Before class began that evening, the instructor, who always reminded me of a cross between Cicely Tyson and Billy Blanks, asked me if I signed up for the next session of the class.&amp;#160; I explained that I did not because I like to switch up my routine and decided to signed up for the spinning class for next session.&amp;#160; Her eyes narrowed slightly in that Cicely Tyson kind of way and she said, "Oh, that's good.&amp;#160; I'm sure it is a good class."&amp;#160; I'm pretty sure the Billy Blanks in her wanted to punch me in my face but she chose to be passive aggressive instead.&amp;#160; Very big of her, I think.&amp;#160; But, when I turned around and jumped in the pool, I must have inadvertently committed an act of war because she tried desperately to make me pay for my disloyalty for the rest of the class.&amp;#160; The following dismayed everyone in class...&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;"Excuse me, you are not in sync with the rest of the class."&lt;br/&gt;"Ummm, do you not have your water weights today?&amp;#160; Can you please borrow some from someone else?&lt;br/&gt;"I said to the right, Miss."&lt;br/&gt;"Are you having a hard time with this combination?"&lt;br/&gt;"Ladies, please hold for a second.&amp;#160; I need to show her this combination again."&amp;#160; (Please note, I was doing the combination better than her.)&lt;br/&gt;"Keep up please."&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I just ignored her and kept doing what I was doing.&amp;#160; Her nonsense went on for the duration of the hour long class.&amp;#160; Even the kids from the swim team practicing in the competition pool behind us were looking.&amp;#160; Their little faces clearly read, "Wow, that lady is a loser."&amp;#160; That lady, being me, of course.&amp;#160; Class ended.&amp;#160; As I exited the pool area, one of the lifeguards said, "Rough class, huh?&amp;#160; What did you do to her?"&amp;#160; I told him that I informed her I was taking a different class next session.&amp;#160; He laughed uncontrollably and told another passing lifeguard.&amp;#160; Then they both laughed uncontrollably.&amp;#160; The second lifeguards said, "She got you, shawty."&amp;#160; Then they both walked off to the pool office to share the tale.&amp;#160; &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I hope she works out her teacher-student abandonment issues at her next therapy session.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:69327901-5ef7-457b-9c94-f6f70339abf7] --&gt;</description>
