It’s the most demanding mountain bike race on planet earth. Period. By the way, that’s not our opinion—it’s a fact, and it’s something that extreme bikers can’t wait to challenge themselves with.
The Life Time Fitness Leadville 100 is 100 miles on rough terrain in thin air at altitudes up to 13 thousand feet. Lance Armstrong breezed to victory last year and he’s planning on racing again this August 14th. And guess what—there’s a chance if you’re a regisgtered Life Time Cycle club member you could take him on.
Write a 2-paragraph essay on why you belong in this race. Describe your 1) cycle experience level and qualifications 2) tell us your home club and 3) why you deserve and desire to be chosen. [And it wouldn’t hurt to describe your pain tolerance too!]
We’re taking one entry per Life Time club from coast to coast. If you are chosen, you will represent yourself and your club this summer in Leadville, Colorado. If selected you’ll pay your transportation, expenses and entry fee but this is one of the toughest races to compete in and get in: Only 1500 registrations are accepted so most likely this is your only chance.
Remember to email your essays to Julie Elsen jelsen@lifetimefitness.com for a chance to win. Entries must be received by March 15, 2010.
Good luck!
