Peter Johnson (44) could do nothing to stop Riddler-turned-Timberpuppy Louie Trejo (4) and his time-defying jumper.

The collapse of storied Minneapolis Rec franchise the Riddlers has greatly affected the league this Fall.  Dan Davis is a Tornado; Nick Roell, draped in orange, has a new penchant for rebounding; and the whereabouts of UH icon Isaac Vogel are unknown.  But no transaction involving the dissolved Riddlers was more surprising than Louie Trejo donning the black and white of the Timberpuppies, the very team Trejo has viewed as the enemy since Summer 2008.

Now, all is forgiven.

As John Cloeter (24 pts, 8-16 3PTs, 7 rebs, 4 asts, 2 stls, 2 blks) desperately tried to keep the Cadets in the game with the clock winding down, it was Trejo (16 points, team high 47% FG) who buried a mid-range shot with 5.8 seconds left in regulation to finalize the Timberpuppies dramatic 68-66 victory over the Cadets.  The Cadets led for nearly the entire game, taking a 36-27 lead into the break and holding that nine-point spread for much of the second half.  But with the Cadets offense going south as the game wore on, the Tpups struck back to take a 66-63 lead with under 30 seconds to play.  A bit of controversy ensued - Cloeter hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 66, but multiple witnesses claim Cloeter was clearly fouled on the shot.  No call was given, and the resulting two from Trejo's scamper towards the other end sealed the Cadets' fate.

Long time Timberpuppies Kyle Wenzel (19 pts, 9 rebs, 5 asts) and Sean Ball (10 points, 13 rebounds) helped pave the way to victory, and new Tpup signing Ryan Samuelson (8 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts, 4 stls) filled the gaps nicely against his former Cadets teammates.  Rookie James Shockman of the Cadets (16 pts, 7 rebs, 2 stls) was impressive in his UH debut, and despite the defeat, the Cadets have proven they can run with the big boys.  Next week they take on the Poolboys, while the Timberpuppies are dealt Upright Citizens Brigade.

Other scores from Bloomington South's Rec Wednesday: Bobcats 62, UCB 40 ... Sphinx 63, Hawks 59 ... Poolboys 88, Lakers 63 ... CP3-O 125, Tornadoes 63 ... Nuggets 75, Magic 62
